How Nigerians can Increase Sales and Scale up their Business in 2018Kehinde LAWAL
Increasing sales and revenue should be your major priority if you intend to scale up your business in 2018. And although half of the year is gone, increasing your revenue is still possible but that’s if you take the time to read through this post and re-evaluate your business operations.
Below are my 7 tips to increase sales and scale up your business in 2018:
1. Go back to your numbers
Business at its core is mathematics, therefore, ensuring clarity in your numbers/figures is very important. You need to know exactly how much you want to make per day, per month and per year.
Let’s assume you’re looking forward to making a yearly income of ₦4,500,000 that means you need to make ₦12,300/day and ₦375,000/month. That’s knowing your numbers and as simple as it is, many Nigerians still find it difficult to do.
As a matter of fact, knowing the exact amount you need to make per day will help you start generating ideas and techniques to meet your income goal. And because “You can’t be what you can’t see”, you will never make any amount you don’t even know or put down in paper.
Funny enough, I applied the above principle and figured out my daily income should be ₦12,000/day. At the moment, I currently make a minimum of ₦6,000/day trading Crypto and doing my normal online business. However, I’m gradually moving towards my monthly income goal.
2. Create or update your Business Model Canvas (BMC)
This likely to be the most important thing you can do right now. Download a BMC template here and fill it accordingly. Also, read it everyday as it will enable you concentrate on what is important, thereby scaling your business.
3. Better customer service.
To significantly improve your customer relation in 2018, always under promise and over deliver. Tell customers the goods will be delivered in a day while you deliver it in 4 hours. In short, always go an extra mile to satisfy your customers.
Another way of improving your customer service is to always give more value than the customer paid for. The truth is that every customer like bonuses, and I must confess that majority of people buying my products do it simply because of the bonuses I added.
4. Google Tools
If you want to scale up your Business and increase productivity in 2018, using this 4 Google Tools is essential.

A lot of Marketing gurus are of the opinion that businesses should invest more on Facebook advertising in 2018, simply because the cost of advertising is quite under priced. Just taking a look at the Nigerian ecosystem, you can get cheaper advertising on Facebook for as low as ₦12/click, which is not possible anywhere else.
Instagram ads on the side are majorly for creating brand awareness. It makes people know and want to experience your brand if you have a good product or services. Moreover, after you’ve created the awareness, you can now start selling to them.
6. Community Building and Engagement:
Building community and Engaging your customers after purchasing your product is very important. If you sell online products, you should create an email list and tell your customers to subscribe so as to get updates about your new products and services.
