Keep reading, and hope you will find it useful.

How to communicate effectively with a mentor

When communicating with your mentor, the following tips will help prevent miscommunication, and may hasten response.

1. Your subject line should be meaningful

A good subject line ensures that your mentor recognizes the context and importance of your message. Let it give a concisesummary of the topic you wish to discuss.

2. Be clear and concise

Ensure your message is clear and concise so your mentor responds appropriately. Correspondingly, if you receive messages that are not clear,
take time to get clarification.

3. Agree on schedule and communication channels

In the early stages of interaction between you and your mentor, you should agree on the communication channel you are using for interaction. It is also very important to inform your mentor of your schedule in advance.

4. Avoid spamming your mentor

Avoid bombarding your mentor with messages. If you are awaiting a response, ONE reminder should suffice before considering another
channel of communication.
